ABOUT US
CALLA is the bright new star of Finnish a cappella. Founded in 2023, CALLA makes vocal ensemble music with an artistic approach based on the band’s unique pop sound, their own modern arrangements and original songs. The band consists of six ambitious professionals and friends who, in addition to a cappella, have expertise in jazz, musical theatre, production and songwriting.
CALLA’s goal is to renew the idea of a cappella and make the genre known amongst large audiences. The group strives to do this by actively producing content on social media: CALLA’s videos have gathered millions of views, collaborations with artists and thousands of followers. The group has also been recognized by the Finnish a cappella scene and received praise from experts in the field.
CALLA, who are actively touring, have been heard for example at the finals of Tampere Vocal Festival Contest for Vocal Ensembles and as a headliner at Finnish music festivals. In addition, CALLA has received recognition for their work, amongst other things, in the form of several working grants and the “Newcomer of the Year” audience award at the Sulasol Choir Gala 2024.
